FAQs
This section should be called "mythbusters"because my non-accountant friends ask me the weirdest questions.
Did you study accounting?
No, I did not study Accounting. I studied Accountancy. The profession is called Accountancy.
In his book Introduction to Accountancy, Sánchez tells us that Accountancy is the discipline that communicates about money management and control of resources, its purpose is to collect, generate and transmit knowledge related to information on the use of money in the organizations.
So what is Accounting?
Accounting is a branch of accountancy, and this is in charge of obtaining information generated by the operations of the entities, processing economic data and quantifying it in money, in order to present it as financial information (but, I will elaborate on that later...)
Why did you decide to study Accountancy?
In fact, it was not my initial plan when I started university. Let's say I got into the career by accidents of life, there is a post on here that tells the story :)
What do you do as an Accountant?
This is a very broad question and even after graduating, I can't finish discovering all the things that one can do by studying Accountancy.
What do you do for a living?
I am currently a Level 1 Staff Accountant in the Tax & Global Compliance line of service at EY Mexico (Mancera, S. C.) and Dog groomer and Shift manager at Happy Dog Spaw, located at 4370 Bonita Road in Bonita, CA. In addition to all that, I provide consulting and tax services to entrepreneurs and freelance professionals.
What makes you an expert in Accountancy?
Well, not really an expert here. I still have a lot to learn, despite having studied this discipline for four years of my life. Accountancy is a discipline that is constantly evolving.
I may not be an expert, but my abilities to share and create digital content in Accounting and Tax matters are backed up by an Outstanding Performance in the General Graduation Exam, which earned me an honorable mention at the time of graduation. In addition to this, my GPA in school was 97.05 out of 100.
